Precious' Testimony

I was spoiled as a child, 'till my mom had a paralyzing stroke when I was 13. Then, my Dad worked all of the time. I became isolated, and when I got out in the world at 14, was molested, adulterated, used, taken advantage of. Had a reputation for fighting and being "easy" for falling in love w/the wrong boyfriends (gangstas, drug dealers). I rapped hard corps rhymes in the fashion of Lil' Kim and Big'n'Smalls. Was expelled from high school for fighting. Was told I may never have children. Barely getting out alive, I was divorced out of an abusive marriage to an alcoholic husband at age 20.

But at age 15, Uvern shared the Gospel with me and at 16 I was baptized in water and fire. At 21, I saw the love Kenny had for Christ and, seeing there must be so much more to this walk w/God, I rededicated my life to Christ, uninhibitedly, and truly repented and was delivered.

Since then, Kenny proposed to me and married me, now we have had 5 children, and I was able to receive an honorable military discharge, A.A. in Business, B.B.A. in Marketing, and... (most of the time lol) a Sound Mind. And all the rhymes I write? Biblical Doctrine. And because the Holy Spirit dwells in me (and in my husband) I have Peace.

I declare to all who read this, that every bit of success that I have as a person, is because of God alone. Had I never submitted to Christ as my LORD and Savior, I would probably have died or committed suicide before I ever reached age 25. But I praise God that I am alive!!! He endowed me with wisdom beyond what I had ever fathomed when I wasted so much time working 3 jobs as a teenager learning very little. Now when I look forward, I take into account the new knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that I will gain through Christ with time when I make decisions. And I study to shew myself approved unto God, so that I won't be ashamed, and will rightly divide the Word of Truth. Also, I know that when I die, I will be in Heaven with my Savior.

So don't work just to work. Do work, but work to gain knowledge, wisdom, and understanding through Christ. And before you work, take time to sit at the Master's feet and listen to God's voice, like Mary did (Luke 10:38-42). I know that just as He has radically transformed my life (and is continuing to do so), He can and Will do the same for you. Let go and let God. He'll never leave you alone.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

You have a great testimony, Precious and the Lord has worked a great work in you. There is no telling where He will take you. I know your testimony will really minister to young girls going through some of the things you went through. They just need to know how much Jesus loves them. They are searching for love in all the wrong places. They need to know that there is someone who loves them and that they are not the only person that is going or has gone through these things. Your testimony proves that the power of God can and does change people's lives everyday. It's changed mine also. You are so precious, just like your name. I love you. Blessings to you and your family. Love Rita
