There is no day that a woman doesn't wish to awake, take a shower, fix her hair in the trendiest fashion, put on her makeup, and get fly. So why is it so hard to do that once you become a mother of 3, or 4 children? What is it that goes through the mind of a woman who is pregnant with baby #5, especially when she doesn't feel like showering one day? Well, hey, I can speak up on that one!
I know that my husband likes to see me happy all of the time, shinin' all the time, and on my ten/A game every day. Wish I could say I was. The last two days I spent not working out, and so obsessed with work that my brain is slicked back lol!!!! This is what's goin' through my head.
1) Order
Looking around, I wish that more things in my household were in better order. Some of them require money to change, some require time and wisdom to change, but whatever the case, I long for more order.
2) Romance
Man, what I would do for a rose and some candy right about now!!! Hahaha!!!!!
3) Joy
There is joy that only comes from the LORD. Definitely, I need some precious time before the throne of God to help me see that everything is worthwhile.
4) Growth/Feedback
Am I doing alright? How is my progress? Am I where I want to be in life? And how about my family? What can I do to make my family stronger, richer, larger, and better?
5) Rest
Ultimately, I need to rest my body and my mind.
There it is! My, my, my. I suppose this blog would be so incomplete if I didn't have a short list of solutions for the problem of "The Rut" feeling that a mom can feel regardless of how productive she seems to look. Well, no worries. I have some.
The solutions have to be practical and they can't be cliche. What is the first solution to the problem?
1) Babysitter
Make plans to have the children stay with a babysitter in the upcoming week so that you and your husband can have alone time.
2) Prayer/Worship
Really, this is #1, but whether the attempt to get a babysitter succeeds or fails, the prayer part is doable. Turn on the most "holy" worship music that you can think of, and play it on repeat. If it's feasible, do it while the children are asleep. Let God do some serious healing from all of the cares of this world. This is when all kinds of unforgiveness of self and others can be laid down at the altar, and purpose can flood the soul.
3) Sleep
If you feel "groggy", go ahead and go to sleep. When you wake up after a good night's rest, you will be surprised what your mind is able to do!
4) Make a "To-Do" list
Put on the list six of the most important things that you need to do. Do them all before you move on to the next. The system works and has been proven over and over again.
5) Talk to someone
It's always good to have friends. Sometimes for me, just sitting the phone down on speaker and listening to my friends talk about their own day helps me to focus while I clean up. Try it, it works! ;)
Okay, I'm done. I pray that somebody is helped by my blog. Now I'm gonna let my husband watch our baby while I take a long shower, pray, and go to SLEEP!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!
